Walking back up to press row from the hospitality room, my new favorite place in the MC, I caught a glimpse of Cyr stretching in the locker room doorway. Head down. Even before the puck drops, he’s bent over looking at the ice. Motionless. Is he meditating?
-White leaves a rebound out that a PG player whifs on.
-Deagle runs White after the whistle. Four Hawks descend on him. Nothing comes of it. A good sign, though.  I like the toughness.
-Cyr juggles a puck. I thought it was over the crossbar, but somehow it sneaks across the line. Give it to King. How about that. 3-1 Hawks.
-Walker blocks a shot from the point. I sure like him.
-The puck slides around the boards and right by four Hawks. No one wants to play it.  A Cougar finally picks it up and shoots. White with a decent save.
-White has had a GREAT game. It will be an interesting decision what the Hawks do with him next year. Mucha will be 19. White will be 20. They’re inviting disaster if both come back.
-Cyr punches Swystun in the back of the head during a scrum in front of the net. He should have received a misconduct. At least a double minor. He only gets two. He’s having a bad 30 minutes.
-Walker and Bidlevskii drop the mitts. Bidlevskii knocks Walker out. Surprised Walker’s not going to the locker room.
-Portland takes back-to-back penalties. PG will go 5-on-3 for 1:16. Heck of an opportunity to climb back into the game.
-PG is happy to stay outside for the most part. White is EVERYWHERE in the net. I mean everywhere.
-The second penalty is killed. White is your #1 star. If he’s not, I’ll be throwing a chair.
-The game is starting to get chippy. 5:43 to go at this point. Once we pass 5 minutes, it should turn into Thunderdome, to borrow a line from Jason Sukanic.
-PG penalty with 3:58 to go should keep a lid on things. Dudas gets 2 for elbowing and a 10 minute misconduct. Portland is going balls out to score this goal.
-A big part of White’s genius tonight is his ability to direct rebounds into the corner. This was Mucha’s major problem last night.
-I’m too verbose tonight. That’s it for this post….
