With the election finally over, I need something new to occupy my time. My aunt has decided to figure out what the hell happened to the economy. I might take that class myself starting in January. PJ O’Rouke is having a tough time figuring out just what the hell happened too (via Sullivan).
The left has no idea what’s going on in the financial crisis. And I honor their confusion. Jim Jerk down the road from me, with all the cars up on blocks in his front yard, falls behind in his mortgage payments, and the economy of Iceland implodes. I’m missing a few pieces of this puzzle myself.
Or I could just decide to quit worrying about it and live a little. Wasn’t that my plan all along? Work like hell to get Obama in office and let him deal with it. He’s an adult. He’s going to surround himself with adults. Why not just let that part of my life go on auto-pilot for a while? It worked out so well when I did the same in 2001 for George W.
Besides courses in macro and micro economics, I see where PCC also offers classes in wine appreciation and digital photography. Why not take a few months and enjoy the finer things? Book learning will still be there in the spring.

Forget digital, do it old school like me and load on old camera with B&W Tri-X film. Worked for me on election night in Grant Park
