Too close to the fire

This blog entry from John Hollinger got me to thinking. Is Portland really viewed by the rest of the country as a bunch of weed smokin’, half-Muslims? I mean when I think whacked out lefties, I think of San Francisco and Vermont. Where does Portland really rank among national liberal touchstones? Top-ten? Top-five?

Portland (as a land of liberal lunacy) ranks in my jaded conservative eyes as between SF and Boston. Most of Vermont is actually not as liberal as some may think… seems that the transplanted Noo Yawkers have the same affect there as the Taxachusetts refugees have had on NH (i mean, they are actually considering taking “Live free or die” OFF of the license plates !!!)
