One of the true pleasures of this space has been the number of folks who’ve put me in their blogrolls in the last year-plus. I’m listed by everyone from Jack Bog to Dwight Jaynes to Gregg Drinnan to Andy Kemper to Casey Holdahl. There are some serious heavy hitters in there and, with the exception of Jack, they’re all linking to me because I either talk about the Hawks or the Blazers. I take both of those subjects very seriously and am honored that folks think that highly of me.
I wonder, though, when people click through to me from Drinnan or Andy, whether they’d rather come somewhere that just talks sports instead of all the other hooey that flows out of my brain and on to this site. So I’m thinking about launching a new site with just Hawks and Blazers stuff. I’ve got the URL, and I’m picking out the theme. But I wonder if it’s really needed.
I know you’re out there, sports fans. Let me know. Do you like wading through my political and economic thoughts? Or would you rather just go somewhere to read about local sports?

It depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want more traffic for the sports stuff, splitting it out makes sense.
And you can still weave both blogs together (rss links in your sidebar) so readers of one still get a sense of what’s going on on the other blog.

Keep it here… I started reading your blog back in the Hawks “Center Ice” days, and started reading everything else right along with it. Good stuff, whether or not we agree.
Little more sports never hurt though. =)

I dont agree with your politics, but you run an entertaining site and I dont mind roiling through the stories about the Democratic Nominee because I figure that this too shall pass when he goes back to being a senator from IL.
There is more here than sports and politics as well…

I just discovered your blog so will catch up on what you’ve written so far.
As for your question, I’ll read anything about sports! The exception being (and dare I say it publicly in The Rose City) is that I will intentionally skip over Trailblazer stuff. The only thing I’ll read is if it involves Bill Schonely. Don’t get me wrong, I like basketball just not Portland basketball. When I think of red, black, and white my brain thinks hockey (as it should) and Winterhawks not Blazers. Sad, but true.
