The Hawks are down 3-1. Shots are 19-4 after the first period. The Hawks haven’t helped their own cause much.
-Kromm finally pleads his case to Zalaski just prior to the start of the second period. The Hawks are shorthanded to start the period.
-Zalaski calls his first penalty on Everett. He matches it up with another on Portland.
-Valchar works his tail off and scores a nice little PP goal.
-Zalaski is on his way toward evening things up. But he still needs to call a dive. A stand-alone dive.
-Everett scores again as Portland let’s a player just stand in the crease. Well done! Despite EVERYTHING, Portland is still in this game, but for whatever reason they won’t fight for it.
-Scrum in front of the net on the Crowley penalty. After the whistle, Sjodin gets knocked on his a$$. That may be the first time that’s ever happened. He’s not happy.
-More Everett players skate unimpeded through the Portland crease. A few even bump Mucha. #35 has had about enough.
-Gabriel trips a guy in the crease to close out the period.. Well done!
