I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t paid as much attention to the Hawks this pre-season as I’d hoped. Working two jobs has depleted my free-time to next to zero. Thus I’ve only read a few reports about the pre-season. I checked in on the O-Live forum tonight and found quite a lively discussion about one of my favorite returning Hawks, Tayler Jordan. He was one of the few bright spots in the PIM column last season, racking up impressive numbers in limited action.
Something seems to have gone sideways this pre-season. How else to explain TWO game misconducts. The second for kneeing, a penalty for which there is simply no excuse. Is it immaturity on his part? Is he taking his role as team tough guy a little too seriously? Will Kromm dial him back? Or is this what the new coach wants out of #21? I sure hope not.
I expected to find Jordan near the top-5 in the league in PIMs this season. Now I wonder if I’ll have the stomach for it.
